Solar Keratoris
Also known as “actinic keratosis”, is a skin disease that is caused by years of exposure to ultraviolet rays, usually from the sun. It first appears as a small tan, brown, or redness-brown patches, flat or raised. Over time they multiply and form larger patches. Most frequently are nothing more than a cosmetic cancer, left untreated although can develop to a dangerous from of skin cancer called “squamous cell carcinoma”. There is an effective medical treatment for the solar keratosis, however on occasion surgical removal in an office setting is needed.
