6. After an accident, I ended up with an ugly scar on my face, can it be helped?

Most scars can be helped, disguised, or on occasion made to disappear.  It depends on the size location, color of the skin, healing properties, sun exposure, and other factors.  If the skin goes along with some of the facial lines of expression, it is a more favorable result, however, if it goes across, then surgery is needed.  The end result is that of a scar that is less noticeable, camouflaged or disguised.  In all cases sun avoidance is essential.  If the scar goes across to a hair bearing area, after revising the scar surgically, small hair transplants can be placed and improved more.  Other facial scars like those of acne can be treated with a combination of techniques, such as medical microdermabrasion, chemicals, and or injection of collagen, or a technique called “skin undermining.”
