BOTOX® Cosmetic

Botox blocks impulses from the nerve to the muscle.  It relaxes the muscle as it contracts.  After the treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled, while the untreated facial muscle contracts in a normal fashion.  Botox injections have been safely and effectively used for over the twenty years for many other reasons.  For cosmetic purposes Botox is injected into several locations on the face using tiny micro needles.  No sedation or local anesthetic is required, and normal activities can be resumed.  The effects of Botox can be seen in approximately two weeks leaving a more youthful and pleasant appearance that lasts 4-6 months.
